To become a CNA in Utah, you must get enrolled into a CNA training program offered by a Nursing Aide training school approved by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry. After graduating from the CNA training, you are eligible to challenge the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) which is held at D&S headquarters or approved sites. Once you have successfully passed NATCEP, your name gets placed on the Utah Registry for Nursing Assistants. It is to be noted that you must undergo a personal background as well as physical condition check to be eligible to attend the CNA training.
CNA training classes in Utah must possess at least eighty (80) hours of instruction time. You are allowed 25% tolerance in the written part while no tolerance is given in the performance part. On successfully passing the NATCEP, you get listed on the Utah State Nurse Aide Registry and are allowed to work in any healthcare facility throughout in Utah.
