Complete a serial tuberculosis skin test…CNA Classes in AR

Once American congress passed the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987, states all over America were federally mandated to both approve CNA programs, CNA Certification test and maintain a list of all state certified nurse aides. The legislation has also made it necessary for AR Department of Health and Human Services Division of Medical Services Offices of Long Term Care to see that AR CNA training programs throughout the state meets the stipulations as required by the OBRA-87.

The training program in Arkansas features, state and federal approved 90 hours programs, which includes classroom/lab and clinical hand on trainings. The basic instructions during training program include:

  • Safety Procedures
  • Restorative care
  • Emergency care and Infection control
  • Medical terminology instruction
  • Mental health care

All the topics and clinical experiences are based on the subjects that are essential for competent nursing cares to residents in long term and other health care facilities.

The training programs are offered by numerous high schools, community and vocational institutes, trade schools, technical institutes and long term care facilities all over AR.
