In Alaska, the responsibilities for the quality certified nurse assistant program lies with the Alaska Institute of Technology (AVTEC) and its partnered associate Providence Health System, who offer CNA classes in Anchorage, Alaska. The program duration is 38 days, which consist of classroom theoretical instructions/lab and clinical experiences and stretches for a total of 230 hours training. Prerequisite for Program Enrollment

Training Program Procedures:

During the first four weeks of the course, a student is offered classroom instruction and laboratory practice training and next 4 weeks are reserved for clinical hand-on experience. The program instructor or licensed nurse oversees the training and minimum 6 hours must be spent by the student everyday for the learning.

Program curriculum includes instructions on , Nurse Aide Job Duties and Responsibilities, Organizational and Management Skill, Basic Life Support Skills, Basic Nursing and Personal Nursing Skills and, Communication and Interpersonal Skills.

The successful completion of CNA Training Alaska offers a student opportunity to sit for the state Certification test. The passing of the test earns Certification and registration with Alaska State Nurse Aide Registry.
