CNA exams for certification, CNA-1 and CNA -2…..CNA Classes in OR

The State of CNA Training Oregon is very particular, when it comes to routine nursing care of the ailing patients. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Oregon State Board of Nursing to safeguard the public’s health and well being through regulations for safe practice by CNAs. The OSBN also manages and regulates various nurse aide program offered by numerous high schools, community and vocational institutes, private schools, technical institutes and long term care facilities.

The CNA Training Oregon also has special features including preparation separately for 2 CNA exams for certification, CNA-1 and CNA -2.

• CNA- 1– includes 75 hours of classroom/lab instruction as well as 75 hours of clinical hands-on experience in a skilled nursing facility.
• CNA 2 –consists of 40 hours of coursework/ labs in addition to 24 hours of clinical rotations in assisted living institutions, intermediate care settings, nursing homes and hospitals.

If the student completes the first CNA course, he is eligible for a level one state certification. He/she is also now allowed for enrollment into a level two CNA class. On completion of both courses, the student is ready for appearing in CNA exams.

The basic curriculum of the training program includes learning and training on following courses:

• Basic nursing and clinical skills.
• Human anatomy and Nutrition.
• Safety techniques, Emergency Cares and Infection control
• Use of Medical Terminology
• Personal care skills
• CPR
• Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Promotion and respect of Patients’ rights and independence
• Mental health
• Restorative care
• Additional skills.

A student can also complete their training by opting for Free trainings, apply for scholarships and grants to fund their programs, avail sponsorships from Long term care facilities, in exchange of their working in that facility and accredited online programs.
