Similar to other states of America, the state of Vermont must also follow federal OBRA-87 requirements of safe, quality and competent skills in its CNA training programs. It is the responsibility of the Vermont Department of Health through the Vermont Nurse Aide Registry to regulate all training offered by various schools and colleges all over the state.

The basic necessities of CNA Training Vermont have duration of total 75 hours of training, split between classroom theoretical instruction and clinical hands-on training in a health care facility. There are also no prerequisites for enrolling in a program and even a student still in a high school can obtain CNA Training.

Further, it must also be remembered that as led down by the Federal law, a CNA can get reimbursement of the training cost and exam fees, by getting employment in long term care facility within 12 months of training completion and earning of certification.

Currently, there are nearly 40 state-approved CNA courses in Vermont that are offered by various schools, colleges, technical institutes, trade schools and long term care facilities. You can enquire with The Vermont Department of Professional Regulation for a list of approved programs suiting you for the enrollment.

The basic instructions and training during the program includes learning of skills such as:

Even, Vermont American Red Cross chapter also provides quality CNA program of minimum 100 hours duration training. The students are legible to apply for the financial assistance from Vermont Student Assistance Corporation as grant, after completion of this training course in three weeks.
