There is a growing need for the Certified Nursing Aides (CNAs) in Wyoming. But what must you do to become a CNA in Wyoming? A nurse aide willing to become a CNA in Wyoming must enroll into a CNA training program that is governed by the Wyoming Department of Health. Upon completion of this program, you are required to challenge and successfully pass the Wyoming Nursing Aide Examination. Obtaining a passing score in this test would get your name listed on the Wyoming Nursing Assistant Registry following which you are entitled to work as a CNA throughout the State of Wyoming.

There are several quality CNA training programs offered many regions of Wyoming including Evanston, Evansville, Gillette, Green River, Casper, Cheyenne, Cody,  Dubois, Kemmerer, Lander, Jackson and Riverton to name a few.

Those interested in enrolling into a CNA training program must undergo a criminal background check and show medical documents indicating their good health.  CNA training program in Wyoming includes at least 75 hours dedicated to the nursing assistant skills. At least 16 hours of clinical training forms an important part of the CNA training curriculum, in which the students are made to work in a real life setting while caring for the patients. Students learn the necessary skills in CNA training that include taking care of the daily needs of the patients, being proficient in the medical terminology, keeping records of patient’s health and noticing and reporting changes in the vital signs and more.

Upon graduation from CNA training, students must then challenge the Wyoming Nursing Aide Examination. The exam costs you $98. There are two parts of this test: written and performance. The written part consists of 70 questions while the performance part tests you on the five basic nursing skills which have to be performed by you in a clinical setting. Those obtaining a passing score in both these parts get listed on the Wyoming Nursing Assistant Registry.

But what is the annual salary of a CNA working in Wyoming? A CNA working in Wyoming earns an average annual salary of $26,176. The demand for CNAs in Wyoming has been predicted by the Department of Employment in Wyoming to rise by 22.1% through 2016 making it a good career choice for many.
