CNA Classes In MS

The students who want to go for CNA training Mississippi have to apply for a CNA training program that meets the federal requirements of the state. The Mississippi State Department of Health is the authority headed by the state governments to monitor the CNA programs offered by the schools in Mississippi.

As it is compulsory by The Mississippi State Department of Health, the students have to attend minimum of 75 hours of CNA training. The CNA program includes classroom training and clinical hands on experience. Most of the CNA programs offered by different schools in the Mississippi State are around 100 hours as the students get more duration to develop their skills.

Students are instructed on following skills, which they are required to provide while serving the ailing patients in numerous health care clinics:

• Body mechanics
• Nutrition
• Anatomy and physiology
• Infection control
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Promotion of resident rights and independence
• Personal care skills
• Basic Nursing skills

The students must also note that during classroom theoretical instruction, they are not allowed to come in contact with actual patients. They can only work with the patients, once they complete the classroom training component and attend clinical training under the supervision of registered nurse.

With the completion of both classroom and clinical trainings, a nursing aide will have to sit for competency evaluation test to get the certification. The certification makes the student eligible to get enrolment with Nursing Aide Registry and they can work legally with long term care units and nursing homes.
